Nasal construction
The problems related with the nasal construction are considered as prime reasons for snoring. If the bone of nasal bridge, which creates a separation between the two nostrils, has any deformities that will obstruct the flow of air, snoring may arise.
Breathing through mouth
In some people, one jaw drops and the tongue falls towards the throat during sleeping. This will create an obstruction to the air passages and thus causes vibrations and ultimately snoring.
Excessive fleshy structure in throat
If there is an excess in the fleshy structure in throat, the chances of them vibrating and colliding will be higher and thus results in snoring. Abnormal adenoids or tonsils are also considered as a major cause of snoring.
Obese people have larger necks that narrow down the air passages. The excess tissue matter present in the throats of obese people will also increase the obstructions in the throat. Tumors and cysts can also result in snoring.
Obstructed nasal passage
If the nasal passage is obstructed, the air transmission into the lungs will be inhibited. The people facing congestion will have to breathe extra hard and thus will snore. When there is an allergy, the chances of snoring increases. Even a common cold can result in snoring in some people.
Bad sleeping positions
If an individual is sleeping on his/her back, their tongues will have the tendency to fall back thereby obstructing the breathing passages. No matter the person keeps his/her mouth closed or open, this will make the person end up snoring.
